BlephEx®
BlephEx® Eyelid Margin Exfoliation
BlephEx® is a procedure that is used to treat conditions of the eyelids, such as dry eye and blepharitis (inflammation of the eyelids). It is performed using a special device that uses a micro-sponge to gently exfoliate the eyelids and remove excess bacteria, debris, and dead skin cells.
BlephEx is usually performed as an outpatient procedure, and it typically takes about 30 minutes to complete. It is generally well-tolerated and has few side effects. Some people may experience slight discomfort or redness of the eyelids after the procedure, but these symptoms usually resolve quickly.
BlephEx is a useful tool for managing conditions of the eyelids that are caused by excess bacteria or debris, such as dry eye and blepharitis. It is also used to prevent these conditions from recurring. It is important to see an eye doctor if you have symptoms of dry eye or blepharitis, as early diagnosis and treatment can help to prevent complications and preserve vision.
